"Screwball" is the third episode of the first season of ONE, and the third overall. It was released on December 13th, 2020.

Plot (Spoilers)

Prologue

Five hours later, Whippy Creamy decides to help Subway Seat get back up right, who's been in the same position since last episode. Scenty wakes up, although still visually tired, and decides to talk to Magazine. Magazine mentions how she doesn't wanna be in The Plane any more now that it's freaking her out. She then goes on a rant about how repetitive her life is, but suddenly disappears. Scenty is angry at Airy for abruptly teleporting her, though he just responds that she was eliminated and sent back.

Airy then announces yet another batch of contestants will be joining the show, which annoys Scenty and Backpack. The new contestants are Atom, Abstracty, Folder, Texty, Circle and Stone. When Abstracty appears, they approach Backpack and transform to try and replicate him. They then give a short introduction pretending to be Backpack, with a very similar voice, as well as knowing that his real name is Liam. This interaction causes Backpack to faint. When Stone appears, they approach Subway Seat and Whippy Creamy and tell them in sign language that they know everything that has, is, and will happen in the universe, although Subway Seat doesn't seem to understand sign language. Abstracty tries to replicate Moldy, and talks about how she insults others to increase her self image, as well as manipulating her closest friends multiple times. Moldy tries to punch Abstracty, though it doesn't have much of an effect.

When Airy tries to welcome the new contestants, Circle interrupts and doesn't want to participate, trying to walk away instead. Airy on the other hand keeps teleporting him back to his previous position and ignores his pleas to leave. The music that played for the previous batches of contestants doesn't play this time. Stone tries to alert Soda Bottle about something in the sky and for him to move, but he doesn't understand, so Stone instead pushes him. A few seconds later, a cassette recorder falls from the sky and lands where Soda Bottle was previously standing.

Airy announces that all the contestants will now form teams, with there being 4 teams in total. Soda Bottle, Backpack and Scenty follow Stone, while Backpack mentions to Scenty that he thinks Stone knows a lot more than they do. Soda Bottle explains to her how Stone knew about the cassette player falling from the sky and that it was going to land right where he was standing. Stone brings in Texty, and tells Scenty to leave due to there being more than 5 teammates, though isn't able to explain due to their inability to speak. Scenty instead teams up with Tray, Bassy and Contact Lens after hearing them talk about how they wanted to leave The Plane. She also gives her plan for the team to lose every round so they can be eliminated quicker.

Moldy talks to Circle about teaming up, but Circle doesn't wanna participate because he was already in another competition. However, upon learning that the prize is a wish for anything, he reconsiders and teams up with Moldy. After 20 minutes of Whippy Creamy pushing Subway Seat towards Moldy and Circle, the two ask if they could team up. Moldy is reluctant at first, but after looking back at Abstracty, she changes her mind. Airy then parts Atom, Folder, Abstracty and Airline Food as a team since they are the last ones without a team.

Challenge Time

Struggling to think of a challenge, Airy announces that the next challenge is to run to a distant tree (more like a bush) and back. Only one team member needs to do it, and the last team to complete the challenge is eliminated. Soda Bottle talks to Backpack about how Airy wouldn't let Circle walk away while he allowed them to. However, Backpack questions if they even tried walking away, so Soda Bottle attempts to walk away from his team. He gets quite a distance before being teleported back to his team. Backpack's team ends up winning because Texty was able to spam a bunch of A's to extend long enough to reach the tree.

Stone sneaks up on Scenty's team and picks up Contact Lens. They run towards the tree while Scenty gives chase. Stone pushes Contact Lens on the tree and throws him to his teammates, which they're successful in doing and causes Scenty's team to win. Scenty lashes out at Stone and walks back to her team. Airy declares that Atom's team and Moldy's team are the only teams who haven't completed the challenge yet, but Circle interrupts him that they already did the challenge. Airy accepts the team's words and puts Atom's team up for elimination.

Stinger

In the stinger, Scenty complains to Backpack and Soda Bottle that Stone forced her team to win the challenge. Backpack is sorry and tries to make her feel better by mentioning how Texty won his team the challenge. Backpack doesn't think there's anything sinister about Stone because they saved Soda Bottle's life and that there's always next time, though Soda Bottle interjects that he's being too optimistic. Scenty ends the conversation by asking them to keep an eye on Stone.
