Do you realize how much suffering you've caused me!? Do you realize the torture you put so many innocent people through!? You apathetic, deranged, psychopath! End this. Now![1]
― Liam to Airy, "You Move, I Send"

Liam Plecak[2], named Backpack by Airy, is a male contestant and the main protagonist[3] of the first and second season of ONE.

He was one of the six contestants that were teleported to the Plane in the first episode, Freefall. He was a member of Team A alongside Bryce, Texty, and Stone up until Scatterbrain, at which point he was the final contestant on the team and the last one to be voted off, marking the first and only time a team is disbanded through the elimination of every single contestant. He is a green school backpack who formerly worked at an office in San Francisco, California with his co-worker Owen at "GUYS THIS IS A BUILDING". However, after he was presumed dead by the police due to his seven-month-long disappearance, he is now unemployed, with his office building having been put up for lease. Liam now currently resides in Airy's Universe after Airy's death in Self-Titled.

He is voiced by ThatPerson.

Appearance

He is a forest green school backpack shaped like a rounded rectangle. A zipper runs along his body and he has two adjustable shoulder straps on his back with a darker handle sticking up from the top of him. There is also a round front pocket on the lower half of his front, which causes him to have his face placed rather high on his person compared to other objects. His arms start where the zipper leaves a roughly square space on each of his sides.

Personality

Liam is a quiet and reserved person but he becomes dispirited in later episodes from continuous trauma. He has a caring side as he tries to save Charlie from harm a couple of times, and was very patient and caring towards Julien while trying to help him get back to earth. Liam, as shown in Starting Over, suffers from dissociation and derealization. Since he lost his job and was presumed dead on the local bulletin board, he has devoted his time to fervently trying to find and stop Airy from continuing ONE with the help of other eliminated contestants.

Season One

"Freefall"

One (17)

Liam, riding his bicycle, before vanishing.

The episode starts with Liam heading home from work by bike. While crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, he suddenly vanishes into thin air, with the bike falling to the ground.

Shortly after,

As Airy prepares for the challenge by dropping poles into the ground, Liam calls out to Tomato, trying to get him to move out of the way of an incoming stake. As Tomato doesn't budge, Liam runs over to move him away. He is too late, and Tomato ends up crushed. Liam is devastated by this, though he quickly becomes confused as Tomato is recovered a moment after. He demands to know what happened.

During the challenge, as Tomato falls from his pole, Liam calls out and reaches for him fruitlessly. Liam later falls from his pole, though he saves himself by grabbing onto Soda Bottle's pole.

Liam agrees with Soda Bottle when he says he just doesn't want to die and asks Soda where he lived. Soda Bottle responds and asks Liam the same question, and it is revealed that Liam lives in San Francisco. He, along with Soda Bottle and Scenty, fall from their poles. He is the first of the three to hit the ground and breaks his left leg on impact. He falls down, unconscious, and is up for elimination.

"Just Tripped"

The episode starts off with Liam awakening and trying to stand up. Despite his protests, Airy straightens his leg and puts it into a cast. He also gets two crutches, one of which snaps beneath his weight. Soda Bottle helps Liam up, and when Scenty asks if he'll be all right, he reassures her that he'll get used to it.

Liam is seen shortly after talking with Subway Seat, who explains the existence of humans to him. Liam then asks what Subway Seat was doing before being brought to The Plane, triggering a montage.

Liam discusses his distaste for the competition with Soda Bottle and Scenty and refuses to do the challenge along with the other two. Liam ends up tripping onto the pole, unintentionally declaring himself safe.

"Screwball"

Liam wakes up before Airy announces the next round of contestants, asking Scenty what was happening. He then tells her to let Soda Bottle sleep as she goes to wake him up.

Abstracty approaches and startles Liam. They mimic his appearance and introduces themself as though they were him. Liam comments on how he doesn't feel good and faints. He gets up not long after.

Later on, he, Soda Bottle, and Scenty discuss Stone. Liam is upset when Stone kicks Scenty off the team and replaces her with Texty.

Liam is seen conversing with Soda Bottle who expresses his concerns on how Airy would not allow Circle to leave. Liam asks if he had tried to walk away which Soda Bottle decides to try out. They both appear disappointed as Soda Bottle gets teleported back when he tries. While the two were distracted, Texty won their team's immunity, much to their dismay.

In the stinger, Scenty approaches and admonishes Liam and Soda Bottle for allowing Stone to declare her team safe. Scenty remarks on how she thinks Stone is up to no good, though Liam believes that they have good intentions as they had previously saved Soda Bottle.

"Walls"

Liam walks over to Scenty and Airline Food, both of which are gawking at Abstracty's strange movements. He asks what is going on and Scenty gestures towards Abstracty, leading him to ask how long this had been going on.

Liam limps away from the other two as Abstracty gets eliminated and wakes Soda Bottle up, informing him that a new challenge is starting.

During the challenge, Liam tries to tell Stone to stop writing on the sticky notes to no avail. He stops mid-sentence when Stone sticks one of the notes to his hand, wondering what it was they had written on the sticky note. He refuses to give Stone the note back, though they simply pluck it from his hands when he tries to rip it up.

Liam goes to ask Stone something though is unable to finish his question when they dart off.

Later, Texty addresses Liam, pointing at Stone as they rush towards him. Stone then runs into Liam, unzips him, and puts the sticky notes inside of him. Liam doesn't seem pleased with the violation of private space, glaring at Stone. He looks relieved when his team is put up for voting.

During the stinger, Liam and Soda Bottle exchange worried glances when Stone is eliminated before Soda Bottle steps forward to read the message they left.

"Rhetorical Molds"

Liam has no dialogue this episode and is shown with Soda Bottle in a state of distress.

"La Salle D'attente"

One 6 backpack about to die

Backpack suffers his first death.

Liam sits down with his last remaining teammate, Soda Bottle, along with Scenty's team when they learn that [[Texty was eliminated. He is one of the three people who was startled when the pool of water drops in. When Airy tells them about the challenge, Liam tells Soda Bottle and Scenty to help get the cast off his leg. However, the two did not have enough time before Airy teleported everyone above the pool. Due to still having the cast on his leg, Liam sinks to the bottom. Scenty tries to dive down and reach for his hand, but he is unable to hold his breath for long enough and drowns.

"Starting Over"

Liam is first seen sitting on the ground, thinking by himself, and not listening to Airy. He continues thinking to himself even after Airy announced that the challenge has begun, which causes Scenty to get worried about Liam.

Liam picks up the rock and begins to hallucinate. He hallucinates the grass multiplying quickly and the rock starting to glitch out. The ground disappears and the rock has turned into Stone. The notes Stone wrote on fly across the screen. Stone also appears to have a mouth and tells Liam something incomprehensible. Liam stares, horrified and his hallucination slowly stops. He stares at the rock, arm trembling and puts it back on the ground. Liam stares at his hands, still horrified and then starts to cry.

Scenty wins for her team on purpose so that Liam can be eliminated. Liam asks her why she would give up her goal of getting eliminated. Scenty states that Liam didn't deserve to be on the competition and experience the things he's experience such as his leg getting broken, seeing Tomato get impaled, and drowning. She believes that Liam is the person that deserves to "leave this hellscape" the most. Scenty starts to tear up. She states that she feels selfish for prioritizing her well-being over Liam's and that even though she truly doesn't want to be in the competition at all anymore, she would rather stay in the competition until she knows that Liam is at home, safe. Liam tears up and hugs Scenty once she's finishing talking.

Scenty and Liam talk about what Liam will do when he's back home in San Francisco. Liam isn't sure what he will do but he said that he'll try to find information about the competition and The Plane. Scenty chuckles at that because Liam would most likely have no useful information and looking up the plane would most likely not be useful at all.

Liam asks Scenty how long she's thought they've been stuck in the competition for. Her guess is three to four days because each challenge cycle is less than twelve hours. Liam is shocked at this and replies with how each challenge cycle feels longer than it actually is due to there being no night time in The Plane. Scenty says how excited she is to get home. Liam replies that if she was the last contestant to leave The Plane, she would be back home in around a week according to her logic of there being six eliminations in the span of four days. Liam says that putting up Airy longer than he has wouldn't be an easy task, so he hopes for the best for Scenty. Scenty laughs and says, "cheers to that!"

Liam and Scenty sit together in silence until the episode ends.

"The Plug Dream"

Liam and Scenty are sitting together peacefully on the same spot they were sitting on from the previous episode, "Starting Over". Liam and Scenty both flinch when Airy's voice sounds a bit different than usual for a second. They stand up, looking a bit worried after what they just heard. Liam is then teleported to the area where Airy eliminates a contestant from The Plane. Liam flinches again when Airy's voice once sounds off. Airy's voice starts to get tenser until a loud crash sound is heard which scares Liam. Liam and Scenty look at each other, shocked and confused.

10 minutes pass, Liam and the other contestants are all confused about what they just heard and why Airy stopped talking after the loud crash noise.

Whatasmallworld

The Plane

Two hours pass, Liam is sitting alone, his hands on top of his knees with a worried look on his face. Liam looks at the grass, noticing that the grass is pointing towards the same direction. He stands up and walks towards the opposite direction the grass is pointing towards. As he continues walking, he notices that the grass is starting to lay flat on the ground, still pointing towards the same direction. This starts to weird him out a bit. He continues walking until he sees the grass upside down pointing down. He gets confused when he sees a blade of grass pointing to three notes that spell out the name of the competition, ONE (a callback to the beginning of "Rhetorical Molds"). Liam looks up, shocked to see a giant plug.

Five months pass, Liam is mentioned when Subway Seat asks Atom to go get Liam who is supposedly by the plug so they can get the last stake out. Atom goes to the plug but does not find Liam because he was actually helping the contestants get the last stake out.

Once the contestants finish getting the last stake out, they have a celebratory pool party but Scenty stays behind to talk to Liam, telling him that she's glad he's back. Liam thanks her and tells Scenty that he's sorry that he has not been as involved with the other contestants as he used to be. Scenty replies with, "It's okay! I know it was hard to let go. Besides, you're happier this way." Liam smiles. When Scenty leaves, Liam expression becomes sadder and he thinks to himself before walking back to the plug.

Liam is then seen back when he discovered the plug 5 months ago. We see the many things he did at the plug during the 5 months such as standing in shock, thinking to himself while sitting near the plug, walking around confused, kicking the plug, punching the plug, and throwing the cassette player from "Screwball" at the plug. At the end, Liam picks up the pieces of the broken cassette player, unzips, and puts the pieces inside himself.

Two months pass, Liam is seen sitting peacefully on a log across from Scenty in the shed. Airy's voice is heard and Liam is extremely surprised and worried. He starts to breath heavily, struggling to control his breathing.

"Scatterbrain"

He does not speak at all in this episode. Liam stands waiting to be eliminated as the other contestants watch him. Airy eventually eliminates him, teleporting Liam to the same area he was last seen in before joining the other contestants in The Plane. He looks around the area and then proceeds to walk to the office building he worked at. He struggles to walk to the building due to how windy it is.

He arrives at the building to be met with a "for lease" sign. He stands in shock.

Liam continues walking down the road until he finds a bulletin board with a piece of paper that catches his eye. The paper is a missing poster for himself from seven months ago. Liam drops the paper in shock and leaves it on the ground as he walks away.

Liam continues walking down the road. He looks over at workers fixing the road, and then continues walking. Hail starts to fall, so he hides in an alleyway to protect himself from the storm.

Liam sits next to a dumpster in a dimly lit alleyway. He decides to look through the notes Stone stuffed inside of him in "Walls". He reads the notes, shocked then confused at the first two notes. The first note says Stone with a long line of numbers and the second note says Airy also accompanied by a long line of numbers. Liam reads the third note. It says SF and is, once again, accompanied by a long line of numbers. The lights start to flicker when lightning strikes and Liam becomes worried, but the lights do not go out. Liam reads the fourth note. It says, "5628 Saratoga Avenue. Apartment 130A Bridgeport, CT." Liam is shocked at the note. He thinks a bit and then looks up.

Season Two

"Rattlepate"

ONE 10 in car3

Cityscape

Liam sticks his thumb out beside the road, and eventually one car stops and lets him in. After showing the address to the driver, a small brown bottle, he is driven until nightfall. He is dropped off at a bed-and-breakfast, where a pill bottle gives him money for the night. A week passes by in a similar manner, with a montage of Liam hitchhiking across the country before finally arriving at a brick red apartment building.

He enters, riding the elevator up and walking down the hallway to stop before door 130. He hesitates, then knocks on the door. When Soda Bottle opens the door and hurriedly shuts it when recognizing the visitor, Liam tries to get him to open the door again. He first describes the notes to him, prompting him to ask if he knew anything about them. Met with silence, and noticing Soda Bottle's shadow from the crack under the door, he sighs and voices his desperation to find Airy and figure out the notes, saying that he won't know without his help. He adds with a note of frustration that since he came all this way to see him, he could at least be more hospitable. He sits down against the door, explaining his less-than-ideal situation and trying to convince Soda Bottle to help him, finally standing up and walking away. However, Liam changes his mind and finds himself back in front of the door. He continues to talk, indignation seeping into his tone. Quieting down again, he rants to the closed door about what happened after Soda Bottle's elimination and the mistreatment they both went through. Liam gets increasingly angry about Soda Bottles's attitude towards this, wondering out loud if he really didn't care anymore and just wanted to forget about the whole thing. He abruptly cuts himself short when a thin pink shell walks by, troubled by the commotion.

Liam walks away and rides the elevator back down, tears forming in his eyes. After ten minutes, he comes back, telling Soda Bottle to think about it. Ten hours later, Liam is sleeping against the door, jolting awake at Soda Bottle's question. He answers, but before he finishes his sentence the door swings open and causes him to fall flat on the floor.

"Bradley"

The episode opens with Bryce cooking eggs and Liam sitting on his bed. Bryce asks him to watch the eggs while he gets the mail. Liam fails to do this. He looks around the room until Bryce re-enters. Liam apologizes for his behavior, which Bryce is not pleased about. He asks Bryce to help him figure out the sticky notes. Bryce first questions him on how he got to his house, and Liam tells him that he hitchhiked.

After Bryce looks over the notes and recognizes the name "Silva", he writes down Bradley Silva's address and tells Liam to ask him about it. Liam is confused to why Bryce would not be coming with him. Bryce initially tells Liam that he has to work, but receives a phone call that his workplace is shut down for a week. Liam asks him to help, and Bryce drives him there.

In the car, Liam calls him Soda Bottle, prompting Bryce to snap at him. After pointing out that Liam never got his name, they exchange names. At Bradley's house, Liam finds a laptop like the one on the note. He asks Bryce to buy it for him.

At Bryce's house again, Liam messes with the computer for ten minutes trying to find anything useful. When he fails to do so, Bryce gets frustrated with him. The two begin to argue, Liam wanting to keep trying to figure out the notes and Bryce wanting to not get involved with ONE again without knowing the notes would actually help. Liam points out that the notes were accurate enough to trust and they needed to help the others, and Bryce argues that he did not want to put his life on hold to follow cryptic instructions. The two are violently interrupted when an airhorn playing on the laptop startles Liam out of his seat. The two look to the computer, where Texty tells them that they have new information.

"Batch Two"

Liam and Bryce are staring at the computer in the opening shot. Liam listens to Texty's explanation silently, only interrupting them to ask if there are other sentient textboxes like Texty in their world. He is shocked when they open the Plane Database, and he begins clicking through the pages. When Bryce points out that the URL says season two, Liam passes the laptop to him.

When the season one page shows a batch of contestants that none of them had seen, Liam startles out of his seat. He is upset by the knowledge that they were not the only people to be a part of ONE. After Bryce flips through those contestants, Liam suggests that they drive to see one of the first contestants, Oscar, who lives not too far away. Bryce is unwilling at first, but Liam points out that, based on the information on the page, he may be living in a homeless shelter, making him easier to find. The two drive to New York City to find him. They check several homeless shelters before spotting him.

The two begin to interrogate him. After Liam reminds him of ONE enough, Oscar tells him the details of it that he vaguely remembers, calling it a dream. Liam tries to tell him that it was real, but Bryce stops him. Bryce asks him a few more questions, interrupting Liam whenever he tries to say that ONE was not a dream. Liam is annoyed, but after they leave, Bryce tells him that because season one happened over ten years ago, Oscar probably wouldn't believe them nor have any useful information.

In the car with static playing on the radio, Liam is pessimistic about having not learned anything. He looks over the notes again. The episode ends in a black and white shot where Liam has eyes, sits up straight, and gasps.

"Famous Last Words: It's No Code"

Liam is talking about the notes outside of the door with Bryce. They open the door and enter the room, continuing to converse. Liam believes that the notes have something to do with the radio from "La Salle D'attente", though he is unsure of specifics. He is unable to act on this possible lead because he does not know how to get to the waiting room.

At Bryce's prompting, Liam checks the weather forecast. He connects the forecast of a storm that night to one of the notes with a drawing of rain, the moon, and a smokestack. He tells Bryce that they should go to the top of a smokestack that night during the storm, like what the drawing on the note shows. Bryce is firmly against this because that would involve illegal trespassing, but Liam insists. After arguing more, Bryce stays firm, saying that he was refusing to help because it would put him at risk. He tells Liam to sleep on his apartment floor, that they will continue the investigation in the morning, and that next night Liam needs to find his own place to stay.

Liam says that he agrees, but in the middle of the night, he leaves. He takes both Texty's computer and Bryce's car keys with him. He attempts to drive Bryce's car, but crashes it into a lamp post immediately after leaving the parking lot.

He is seen staggering in the rain after crashing, trying to walk to the smokestack, when Bryce pushes him over and snaps at him. Liam tries to ignore him and keep moving. When Bryce refuses to let him, Liam snaps at him as well. He says that he needs to figure out this case because Airy took away his whole life. He has no regard for breaking the law because finding out the truth behind ONE is all he has left. Bryce does not accept this because he does not want to be involved; he did not lose much in ONE, and he does not want to lose what he had gotten since then in order to stop Airy. He considers Liam selfish for looking into ONE, but Liam becomes furious at this. Liam tells Bryce that he no longer had anything to lose and that being on the Plane for seven months was torture to him, accidentally calling him Soda Bottle. Liam runs away, with Bryce chasing him.

ONE 13 - END

Famous Last Words.

The scene fades to Liam jumping the fence to the smokestack. He tells Bryce to jump over as well. When he refuses, Liam leaves to climb the smokestack. While climbing the ladder up, the wind makes it creak, which gives Liam pause. He continues to the top, turning around to see Bryce having climbed it behind him. He smiles at first, but it drops when Bryce only asks for his keys. Liam takes the keys out and hands them to him. The metal of the keys attracts lightning, and the two of them are struck in a black and white shot. The two both have eyes, and fall to the floor before credits roll.

"Universe Modulation"

Liam is seen standing in the Waiting Room, startled by the chaos around him. He rubs his head and mutters about the lightning that struck him.

He then calls out to Bryce, and tells him that that was the place he went to after he drowned in "La Salle D'attente". He walks over to the two armchairs and tells Bryce that the radio on the side table was the one he was talking about. He opens his zipper and pulls out the laptop, and asks if Texty was here to, and whether the lightning messed the laptop up. He looks for the notes in himself and pulls out a piece of the broken recorder, then pulls out the notes. When Bryce is about to leave, Backpack stops him and turns the knob on the radio. He is then startled by the sudden screeching noise the radio makes, and the appearance of multiple numbers, rather than 3.

Backpack in first universe ep14

Liam traveled to an unfamiliar reality.

Liam proceeds to turn the knob again a few times, and tries to turn it to the frequency that Stone stated down on the notes. He adjusts the antenna and is suddenly teleported to a crudely drawn but colorful world, being surrounded by water on small islands. A bear suddenly emerges from the water, grabs an island, and smashes Liam and Bryce with it. After dying and being teleported to the waiting room, Liam proceeds to walk back to the armchairs, confused at messing up a number.

Liam and Bryce try it again, Bryce now double-checking it. He approves it and Liam pulls the antennae up again. They are then teleported to a sloppily drawn office where a small green creature named Tony is being reprimanded by their orange boss. Liam and Bryce are noticed and are taken to “the scooping room”, where they die again, along with Tony.

A montage starts playing, where Liam and Bryce die in multiple different universes as they try to get the right numbers for Stone's world, until finally getting there. As they don't find Stone in the roaming pile of rocks, Texty sends him and Bryce back to the Waiting Room via kill code.

"A Toast"

Somewhat depressed because the quest to find Stone lead to nowhere, Bryce encourages him to look further into three other notes they haven't checked yet, such as the one with the initials "SF" written on it. Dialing the code onto the radio, he, Bryce and Texty manage to be teleported in San Francisco on the Golden Gate Bridge. First having to buy a charger for Texty to remain on the laptop, Liam meets Owen again and lies that he is telemarketer in Australia now taking a brake when asked where he has been. Owen however tells Liam the police concluded he was dead, with Liam replying he found it strange the police didn't look into his flight records. With Owen giving him his new number, Liam sits by Bryce at a table to perform a toast to ONE and it's contestants, vowing to rescue them.

Walking into an alley when he appeared back in San Francisco before, in order for people not to see them disappear, Liam goes back to the Waiting Room with Texty now charged without Bryce, who is suddenly sent to The Plane.

"You Move, I Send"

CDA96E7A-4496-4187-BDBB-1A7D5CC8F364

"We're ending this."

Panicking over Bryce's abrupt disappearance, Liam hastily checks the Plane Database, seeing an unfilled competition placement on Bryce's page. Determined, Liam travels to a world unknown in the woods. Hearing crackles and rustling bushes, Liam asks Texty to send him back. He surprisingly meets Toothpaste with his hand on the radio. Liam helps him return to Earth.

Liam then teleports back to the woods, now in daylight, seeing a campsite. Entering a cave, he meets Airy sitting behind a laptop, greeting Liam in surprise. Liam however pushes him, furiously telling Airy of his awful actions, ordering him to end the show. Airy however keeps replying that six more eliminations must be served first, making Liam lift up his computer, ready to destroy it, but is told not to as Airy won't be able to send anyone back. Trying to do it himself, realizing it takes a lot of patience and learning, Liam asks Airy why he does this. Being answered he likes to do it for fun, Liam sarcastically asks if his viewers had fun as well, learning from him that there aren't any and that he eliminates the contestants himself. As Airy walks outside to complete a task, Liam runs after him, still telling him to send everyone back, despite Airy's constant denying.

Liam walks into a cabin and talks to Texty, being told to ask Airy if water is present where Airy is going to get reeds. Liam does so with Airy answering that there is, and must leave Texty in the cabin. Liam walks with Airy towards where he collects reeds, asking him multiple questions, until he gets a minor stab of a piece of a broken cassette player. Because Airy wants the pieces, Liam makes a deal with him in which he gives them said pieces if Airy sends the contestants back tomorrow. Slipping by a log bridge above a waterfall, Liam loses remaining notes that are now dissolved by the water. After attempting to save them, Liam cries.

Sitting by a campfire, Liam asks Airy some questions, including one about the first season of ONE, being granted the answer that Airy had killed every contestant by teleporting a rock too big by accident after Calculatory's elimination, deeming to be doing a great job with the new and better second season he is instead proud of. Liam, terrified, enters the cabin and talks to Texty, who suggests to kill Airy. Liam is shortly shocked and tells him he is entering the cave when he is gone as he receives a low battery notification. When asked if he has the charger for Texty, Liam suddenly realizes he does not, turns his laptop off, and lies down in distress and sorrow.

"Self-Titled"

SelfTitled2

Liam trying to kill Airy

Liam is seen laying quietly on the floor of the wooden house as Airy tells him that he is going to go get wood. Hearing this, he seizes the opportunity to go into Airy's cave to access the computer. He walks out into the rain and enters the cave where he finds the contestants all sitting in a circle looking depressed, telling them, "Hey guys, it's me!" He sits on Airy's stool and tries to use the computer, inadvertently discovering that Airy is the process of planning a third season of ONE, its contestants being Alice, Parker, Garret, Charise, Kylie, and Owen, all nicknamed "tomatoey," "candy bar," "melony," "stocking," "mustard," and "nail" respectively. Infuriated at the sight of Owen being chosen as one of the contestants, he leaves the cave and finds Airy chopping wood in the forest as he forcefully kicks him down. He angrily asks Airy who the people on the computer were, to which he gets no response. He then asks why Owen is one of the competitors, Airy confusingly asking him, "The... nail?" Liam angrily asks him why he is there. Airy tells him that he enjoyed the contestants of Season 2 so much that he felt as if it only made sense to have the next season's competitors be people who had previously known them. Baffled, Liam picks up Airy's axe and walks towards Airy and takes a swing, intending to murder him. They have an intense scuffle over the axe until Airy is seen sitting down at the base of a trunk, which Liam accidentally chops after Airy ducks down. The tree then falls directly onto Liam's leg, causing him to gradually lose consciousness.

While he is unconscious, Airy makes him another wooden cast and goes to collect reeds. After collecting them, he slips and falls over a bridge, causing him to fall directly onto a tall spike that proceeds to shatter his globe and kills him immediately. Time passes and Liam wakes up and starts limping towards Airy's desk, which contains his now-repaired cassette player. Liam inserts the tape and it begins to play "Around the Bend."

As the credits roll and the song plays in the background, Liam looks around for a bit and eventually discovers Airy's top at the base of the waterfall. He scoffs in contempt and walks into the cave angrily. Now back at the house, he discovers that Texty's laptop is now dead, likely meaning that Texty, too, has died. At dusk, Liam wistfully contemplates as he is sitting by the campfire. He walks into the cave and looks at guiltily looks at The Plane before turning back to the computer and attempts to work it out as he puts his hand on his head. As he begins to walk back, he looks up to the night sky as the song ends and the series comes to a close.

Trivia

  • Not counting minor characters, Liam is the first character to appear in ONE and ONE: Season Two.
    • He also has the most appearances out of any other contestant, appearing in every episode except Bottle Episode.
    • However, if the Teaser Trailer is counted, he is the second character to appear after Taylor.
  • Liam is the sixth contestant, as well as the last of the first group, to be teleported to The Plane.
  • He has been up for elimination the most times, 5 in total.
  • Liam is the highest ranking member of Team A, placing 12th overall in Scatterbrain.
    • However, due to Bryce rejoining in Bottle Episode, it can be argued that this would make Bryce the new highest ranking member, as he no longer has an actual elimination rank on the show, being listed as N/A rather than his original ranking of 13th.
  • Liam's last name, Plecak, is the Polish word for "backpack".
  • It is likely that Liam doesn't know how to drive, as he rides a bike to work ("Freefall") and didn't get far in Bryce's car before crashing ("Famous Last Words: It's No Code").
  • Liam's favorite genre of music is black metal.[4]
  • It is unknown if Liam's name comes from a Johnny Urban backpack also named Liam. The backpack is available in a green color similar to Liam's, though the design doesn't match well. It may just be a coincidence.[5]
  • He is the third character to die, the first being Charlie and the second being Amelia.
  • Liam has the highest death count in the series (24+).
  • Cheesy Hfj hosted a poll for the public to decide which ONE character should get a plush toy, having Liam as the winner.
    • The plush was funded in under two hours.
